Outlaster 04:32
I watched the wave curling That monster towering But I wouldn’t listen, I wouldn’t hear the warnings And now I float among ruins A-hoo here comes disaster A-hoo and I’m the outlaster Great shadows cast turquoise grey Savage beauty in the decay But I wouldn’t listen, I still wouldn’t listen, I wouldn’t hear a thing My world left spiralling A-hoo here comes disaster A-hoo and I’m the outlaster A-hoo here comes disaster A-hoo and I’m the outlaster Outlasting it all And the world becomes a silent place When fate is a lost race Then the sky fell And the waves did swell And this land of broken dreams Neither heaven or hell A-hoo here comes disaster A-hoo and I’m the outlaster A-hoo here comes disaster A-hoo and I’m the outlaster You go running for your shelter I’ll be dancing Dancing in the rain Outlasting Outlasting

Vice Versa 04:30
When your cure becomes your poison And that poison seems like the only cure It's timebomb that could blow any second Or remain dormant A benign tumour You feel full as the brimming moon Yet I recline across the cusp of a mezzaluna Half of me glows whilst the rest is cut by the night Well apparently where there is love there is pain Well consciousness, sense, don't say a word For now I understand thing which once I only heard When your cure becomes your poison And that poison seems like the only cure Step into the shadow days Blue as deoxygenated blood Pumping away form my heart Rising doubt creeps up the growing walls of my mind My heart was once willing but it's not anymore I'm a lightning bolt, spark of the storm I'm a silver beam dancing through the rain But my head remains a murky cloud When your cure becomes your poison And that poison seems like the only cure Now there's a record it plays on repeat Connected by wires pugged straight into my vein Well just finish me off Destroy me Or else save me Well just finish me off Destroy me Or else save me from this Dark Dark Dark

Expand 04:27
I’ve been scared of bad choices Like the ones I’ve already made And I’ve been afraid of chasing tumbleweed And time running away But you can climb any mountain Or keep treading the same flatland Watch the world shrinking Or open your eyes And let it expand I’ve got this little shiver A flame that’s quivering But I won’t let it catch me Shattered illusions lead to more confusions You can climb any mountain Or keep treading the same flatland Watch the world shrinking Or open your eyes And let it expand I’m not damned, I still stand I’m not damned, I still stand I’m not damned, I still stand I still stand Just let it expand, expand, expand, expand.

Restless thoughts These restless dreams And dream of recklessness And the Devil is doubt tonight The Devil is doubt And my mind is a haunted house But the darkest hour is followed by the dawn The words that you said to me I hear them so vividly They curdle in crooked caves And the Devil's uncertainty This dark an eternity Oh come Aurora's harbinger The Devil is doubt The Devil is doubt The Devil But the calm will gather after the violent storm And the darkest hour is followed by the dawn Yes the calm will gather after the violent storm And the darkest hour is followed by the dawn

Coal 03:10
Once there were diamonds We both had diamonds in our eyes But now all I see is dark, dirty coal Taking its toll It's a myth that two extremes can counteract A tragedy when opposites do attract Once there were diamonds We both had blinders in our eyes But now all remains is but a shell of us Diamonds to dust That spotted dress marks our decline Stained with bad recollections and cheap wine Those naive days become one troubled night Infectious shadows smothering a flickering light Coal did crumble Dust to the wind Coal did crumble Dust to the wind Dust to the wind Dust to the wind Dust to the wind
6.
Dear eyes that do undress me Shallow intentions and their desires And the past lovers who have disappointed What a blight I've been leaving with for all of these years Dawns without dawning I swear I must have been cursed It's a demon that brings out the worse When it comes to matters of my heart She said here's to magnetic girl Who lives life to the brim Well i'm just trying to make the most Of this January garden I have been thrown in A blooms that's never blooming Tell me how many winters must I endure Before I see the spring How many winters for one spring? How many winters for one spring? How many winters for one spring?

about

The strikingly beautiful new EP ‘Devil Is Doubt’ sees Natalie Bouloudis return with her distinctive, brooding songwriting elevated to windswept new heights. The intricate, moody melodies have been bolstered by years of live shows into taut, powerful performances from Natalie and her band, captured as moments that linger in the air as the last note fades.

Natalie deftly blends elements of folk, gothic rock and jazz but in terms of sheer vocal delivery she’s a soulful rock and roller, at times calling to mind the visceral tones of Patti Smith or Etta James.

about

Natalie Bouloudis London, UK

'If you can imagine the husky smoothness of PJ Harvey and the rewarding textures of Anna Calvi working together you’d get close to Natalie’s yawning Grace Slick sized vocals and hugely poetic lyrical quality.’
